The Old Forge Library, 220 Crosby Blvd., will have free grab bags full of crafts and activities celebrating kindness for ... ↓ moreThe Old Forge Library, 220 Crosby Blvd., will have free grab bags full of crafts and activities celebrating kindness for kids to work on at home in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The bags will include crafts and make-at-home activities. Each kit contains supplies and instructions for a kindness heart made from beads and pipe cleaners, a friendship turtle made from colored thread and mini-popsicle sticks, a bee kind finger puppet, and material for weaving friendship bracelets by using a technique with straws. There are also a selection of kindness-themed activitiy sheets. The Old Forge Library's Grab N' Go bags first began at the height of the Covid pandemic as a result of distancing mandates, and have proven to be incredibly popular. The library's staff and volunteers feel good putting the bags together, knowing that local kids who get grab bags will interact with the library in a way that works with their family's schedule.Kits may be picked up on Friday, January 12 from 10 am - 4 pm or Saturday, January 13 from 10 am - 2 pm. Activities are best geared to children aged 4-11. Supplies are limited, so registration is recommended. Please call 315-369-6008 or email oldforgemidyork.org to reserve a bag for a child.
