Instructor: Bonnie HaneyHow do artists get the rich color and beautiful texture of flowers? How do you get dimension in a flower portrait? In this class we will plan a composition by doing quick thumbnails leading to a full and comprehensive tracing paper study. We will be looking at how to get correct lighting for the subject even if our photos are lit from different angles. We will study surface contours and how they affect lighting. In planning the composition, how does negative and positive space affect the layout? We will look at values in a painting and how to get the correct values.We will be taking a complex, confusing, unruly and complicated pictures, simplify it into an artistically pleasing, well lit, well composed and correct painting. Instructor will supply photos unless you can supply your own.
