Employment Assistance
Program Overview:
The goal of the Employment Unit is to help applicants and recipients of Temporary Assistance and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits to achieve self-sufficiency. The staff works with these individuals to overcome barriers to employment, such as lack of education, transportation and lack of child care. In coordination with local agencies, such as Working Solutions, BOCES, and othe community agencies, the Employment Unit is able to assist individuals with a wide range of services to support them in obtaining and maintaining employment.
Eligibility:
Must be an applicant or recipient of Temporary Assistance and/or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits.
Referral:
Referral process is completed by the eligibility worker at the time of application for assistance.
