Person in Need of Supervision (PINS) Diversion Program
Description:
The Family Support PINS Diversion Program began in February 2003 and is the point of entry for PINS Diversion services in Herkimer County. Services provided include a formal assessment, in home counseling, case management, family support, respite and mentoring for at-risk youth. The goal of this program is to prevent youth from being placed outside the home, based on incorrigible behaviors.
Eligibility Criteria:
Herkimer County youth up to age 18 that are considered to be incorrigible, ungovernable, truant, a runaway or using marijuana.
Referral Procedure:
Parent, school or police agencies must contact program supervisor for eligibility interview.Client Fees: None
