Herkimer County Threat Assessment Management (TAM)

Herkimer County Threat Assessment Management (TAM)

Threat Assessment Management is a proactive, prevention based approach for recognizing, evaluating, assessing and managing threatening or concerning behavior before an act of violence has occurred, including terrorism.

The keys to mitigating a threat are early identification of concerning or threatening behavior and intervention by the Threat Assessment Management Team, before an act has taken place.

The Multi-Disciplinary Threat Assessment Team, through our partners may provide options to the subject, families, potential victims and law enforcement when traditional law enforcement avenues are not available or inappropriate. Targeted Violence is described as incidents where individual(s) or group targets a specific individual or group for an act of violence, this includes Domestic Terrorism and Hate Crimes.

The Herkimer County Threat Assessment Management Team accepts tips, reports of suspicious activity/behavior related to potential future acts of violence though our On-Line reporting form. Each submittal is reviewed promptly. We also accept submittal by calling our office Ph (315) 866-0727, 24hrs a day.
